INTERENET, THE EASIEST WAY FOR A JOURNALIST TO GET INFORMATION FROM A SOURCE

TODAY we have another good topic on internet training workshop as we have been
taught on how to do our assignment through e-mail.

If I am not wrong, the facilitator taught us to look for our news sources through internet and he said to make things easier, first we as journalists who are usually have deadlines in our media houses for deliver stories, should not first run into internet but use a phone to contact the head office of the sources.

And we tried to enter the Zain cellophane company whereby we found a phone number and e mail address and there we were able to have access to some information more easily.

And also we had practical assignment whereby we were told to look for the contacts of Kagera after having a tip from Karagwe that there is a big out break of malaria in Karagwe.

So to get more information first we searched for Kagera region website and through that website we were able to get some information and contacts of the head offices.

I really enjoyed the assignments because I never came across with such assignments since in our media house we mostly use the methods of going to the source or use a phone to contact the sources but not very much through E- mail so I think through this training I can do my job very simply by using this method.
